HGA’s Convergence 2008 Salsa y Salsa exhibition – Anne Flora received third place for her Fiber Music Series: Annie E’s Song in HGA’s Convergence 2008 Salsa y Salsa exhibition, an international juried exhibition featuring multimedia fiber arts works.
Michigan League of Handweavers 15th Biennial Fiber Show Award Winners 2008 – Anne Flora won 1st place in Best Functional Fiber. Jill Ault earned 2nd place in Best Fiber Art, and Marge Mink took 3rd place in Best Fiber Art.
Surface Design Journal published an article in the Winter 2008 edition written by Marion Marzolf on the fiber work of University of Michigan professor, Sherri Smith. The article, entitled Science as Inspiration
begins on page 10.
Lois Bryant had her weaving titled Chip
published in the Fall 2007 issue of Surface Design: the Journal of the Surface Design Association. Lois reported, They mislabled my weaving as a Jacquard (I did it on 16 harnesses), but that’s OK – they reproduced the colors nicely.
Stefanie Meisel had an article published in the November/December 2007 Handwoven issue on Textured Scarves in deflected double weave. Stefanie’s scarf pattern begins on page 40. She also made the cover of Handwoven’s January/February 2007 issue with Sula’s Scarf
